How to change a collection's title, cover and thank-you message
You change how a collection looks in its Edit tab. There you can update the title, description and cover, and write the thank-you message people see after they submit an idea.
Who can do this: collection managers and Admins.
The three tabs on a collection
When you manage a collection, three tabs appear at the top of the collection page. You see them on every collection you manage, whatever your role in the hive, so a Member who is a collection manager sees them too.
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| View | The collection as contributors see it |
| Manage | Your workspace: ideas, steps, dashboard, settings, sharing and summaries |
| Edit | How the collection looks: title, description, cover and thank-you message |
These tabs are shown on a computer screen. Use a computer to manage and edit collections.
Change the title, description and cover
- Open the collection and select the Edit tab.
- Stay on the Edit tab inside the page.
- Make your changes:
- Cover: click Upload media to add an image or video. A 16:9 shape works best, such as 1280 x 720 pixels. You can also clear the cover.
- Title: up to 100 characters.
- Description: explain the challenge and what a good idea looks like. You can use formatting such as headings, bold text, lists and links.
- Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.
Contributors see the first 500 characters of the description, with Show more to read the rest. Put the most important information first.
When you replace or clear a cover, the old cover file is deleted.
Set the thank-you message
After someone submits an idea, they see a thank-you dialog with a short confetti burst. You can write your own message for it, for example to say what happens next.
- Open the collection and select the Edit tab.
- Click the After submitting tab.
- Write your message in the Thank-you message card.
- Click Save.
If you leave it blank, people see the default: “Your submission has been received.” The dialog also has Done and Submit another buttons. The same message is shown to people who submit through a share link.

Common questions
Does changing the title change the collection’s address? No. The address stays the same, so links you have already shared keep working.
