Hives in Google Workspace
Hives shows up as an app in Google Chat, a panel in Docs and Drive, and an icon in the app launcher. Ideas come in from the tools people already have open, decisions get made in Hives, and everyone hears what happened without checking a third place.

How it works
Most idea programmes lose people at the same point: the moment they have to go somewhere else. In Google Workspace, Hives removes that step. The collection, the workflow and the evaluation are exactly what they are in Hives. The doorway is Chat, Docs and the launcher.
Your admin installs it once from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Everyone else finds it already there.
Notify
Connect a Chat space to a collection and every new idea arrives as a card: title, who submitted it, which step it is in. When it moves or picks up reactions, the same card updates. Nobody gets five messages about one idea.
Submit
From any space or a direct message, /idea opens the collection's own form, questions included. The idea lands in Hives with a link back, and the person who had it never opened a new tab.
Capture
In Docs, Drive or Gmail, open the Hives panel and choose Send to Hives. The title comes from the file, the description from what you selected, and the file stays linked. Sheets works the other way round: export a collection and take it to the meeting.
Find
When your admin installs Hives from the Google Workspace Marketplace, the icon appears in everyone's app launcher. Click it and you are in your hive, signed in with the account you are already using.
Ask
Message Hives with a question about a collection and Ida answers with the ideas it drew on, so a manager gets a readable summary before the meeting instead of forty tabs during it.
Nothing here asks anyone to remember a new URL. That turns out to be most of the battle.

Installed from the Marketplace
Hives is a listed Google Workspace Marketplace app. Install it for the whole organisation or one organisational unit from the Admin console, and the icon appears for those people within the day.
Sign in with Google, or SAML
Everyone signs in with the Google account they already have. Enterprise plans add SAML through the Admin console and directory sync, so a person who leaves the company loses access without anyone remembering to remove them.
Only what is in front of the user
The add-on reads the document, file or message the person is looking at, never the whole Drive or inbox. Hives requests no restricted Google scopes, which is also why there is no yearly third-party audit to wait for.
Data in the EU
Hives is a Swedish company. Customer data is hosted in the EU and the platform is built GDPR-first. The security page has the full answer your legal team will forward.
Google Chat and the Docs, Drive, Gmail and Sheets add-on are included on every plan. SAML single sign-on and directory sync are part of Enterprise, as they are for Microsoft customers.
In Chat, the messages sent to the Hives app and the spaces it has been added to. In the add-on, only the document, file or email the person has open when they choose Send to Hives. Nothing is read in the background, and no restricted Google scopes are requested.
Yes. Hives works in any browser and in the mobile app, and contributors can be invited by email, link or QR code. The Google surfaces are an extra way in for the people who live in Chat and Docs, not a requirement.
Cards, dialogs and the side panel follow the language of the space or the person, in English, Swedish, German and French, the same four languages as the rest of Hives.
No. The same hive can be connected to Google Chat spaces and to Microsoft Teams channels at the same time. Ideas, workflows and reports are shared. Only the doorway differs.
