The Dashboard: hive statistics

The Dashboard gives you statistics for your hive: how membership grows, who shares the most ideas and comments, and how ideas spread over the steps of your workflows. The figures only include what you are allowed to see.

Who can do this: Admins and Managers.

Open the Dashboard

  1. Click Menu in the top-left corner.
  2. Choose Dashboard.

The Dashboard has three tabs: Contributors, Workflows and General.

Contributors tab

Members chart. Shows how the hive’s membership changes over time.

  • Use the dropdown to switch between Members total and New members.
  • Choose Week, Month or Year (the default), and use the arrows to go back or forward in time.

Most contributions and Most comments. The top 10 people who have shared the most ideas and written the most comments.

Contributions per group. How many ideas come from each group in your hive. Groups are sets of members, such as departments or sites. See Creating and managing groups.

Workflows tab

A workflow is the set of steps an idea moves through, such as Inbox, Review and Done. See What is a workflow?.

The Workflows tab shows one card per workflow in use. Each card shows how many ideas sit in each step, across all collections that use that workflow. Use it to spot bottlenecks, such as many ideas waiting in one step.

General tab

Contributions shows how many contributions there are of each type. A collection can call its contributions ideas, feedback, posts, insights, solutions or suggestions, and they are counted under those types here.

Why your figures may differ from a colleague’s

The Dashboard only counts what you can see:

  • Admins see totals for the whole hive.
  • Managers see figures for the ideas they have access to, so their numbers can be lower.

The leaderboards never name people who shared ideas in collections that hide contributors’ names. See Hidden ideas, hidden names and anonymous collections.

Common questions

Can I export the Dashboard? No. You can export the ideas of a single collection. See Exporting a collection to a spreadsheet.

Where do I see statistics for one collection? Open the collection in Manage mode and go to its dashboard. See Your collection’s dashboard: charts, wordcloud and filters.
