Adding a collection or survey to a page
You put a collection or survey on a page from the collection or survey itself, in its Share view. Once it’s on a published page, everyone who can see that page can find it and take part.
Why it matters
A collection is where people share ideas around a question or challenge. A survey is a set of questions people answer. Both start on no page. While they are on no page, members can’t find them in the hive.
The page decides who can see them:
- If the page is published, everyone who can see the page sees the collection or survey on it.
- If the page is unpublished, members don’t see it. Its managers and Admins still do.
Each collection or survey can be on one page at a time. A page can hold many collections and surveys.
Read more about page audiences in Pages: how to create, publish and choose who sees them.
Add a collection to a page
Who can do this: collection managers and Admins. A collection manager is someone named as a manager of that collection, or a manager of the folder it is in. See Collection managers.
- Open the collection.
- Switch to Manage in the top bar.
- In the sidebar, click Share.
- In the Page card, start typing the page’s name and pick it from the list.
- Click Save in the bar at the bottom.
To take the collection off its page, clear the Page field and save.
Add a survey to a page
Who can do this: survey managers and Admins. A survey manager is someone named as a manager of that survey. See Who can see, manage and answer a survey.
- Open the survey’s manage page.
- Go to the Share tab.
- In the Share page card, pick the page from the list.
- Click Save in the bar at the bottom.
To take the survey off its page, clear the field and save.
Members who can see the page can then answer the survey in the app, even if the survey’s share link is off. See Sharing a survey: page, link, QR code and kiosk mode.
What people see on the page
- Collections appear as cards. Each person only sees the collections they are allowed to see, and the idea count on each card matches what they can see.
- Surveys appear as cards. Clicking one opens the survey so people can answer it.
- On Home, in Section view, the same cards appear under the page’s heading.
Common questions
Can I add a collection from the page itself? No. Open the collection or survey and choose the page in its Share view.
I added a collection to a page but members still can’t see it. Why? Check that the page is published and that its Visible to setting includes those members.
Does putting a collection in a folder make it visible? No. Folders are for organising work behind the scenes. Only the page decides which members see a collection. See Folders: what they are and who can see them.
Does the page’s manager become a manager of the collection? No. Managing a page lets you change the page, not the collections or surveys on it.
